A love of people and teaching.

When I moved across the country in 1998, I didn’t give much thought to being here forever, but I have now lived in Oregon for over twenty years. My husband and I have two children, who keep us laughing (and busy). As a family, aside from watching The Great British Baking Show and devouring the Harry Potter series, we love to spend time outdoors - exploring, camping, kayaking and skiing. As for me, my family and friends will tell you that I love to keep an organized home and life. I’m a bit of a plant collector and also love to bake, read and peruse the local thrift shops.

My undergraduate degree is in Marketing, but I learned to love teaching during my post-graduate volunteer service at an underserved school in Sulphur, Louisiana. That experience changed my career path and led me to a graduate degree in teaching. During my 20-year career in education, I have taught in both private and public schools in multiple regions of the United States. I have experience working with diverse youth, and I supported and taught executive functions before I even knew what they were. I have been a classroom teacher in both middle and high school, a substitute teacher at all levels, and I am currently an adjunct instructor for the University of Portland, teaching early-career teachers. I am compassionate, creative, patient and ready to help.
